Dallas ISD principals and teachers in West Dallas are committed to preparing the students to be able to achieve to their capacity and become productive and successful citizens. However, the task is daunting and not achievable without augmenting resources. There is a clear need for external programs and organizations to come alongside the faculty, helping motivate students to learn, to develop greater self-esteem, and to help engage the student’s parents.

Providing these services can be overwhelming for organizations, so a new approach was needed. SOAR,collective-impact education initiative managed by Serve West Dallas, addresses this by offering a unique collaborative wraparound model that maximizes programs and increases the capacity of direct service agencies.
